Hey are you guys playing at the Boys and Girls club……………er is that the Senior Center. Looks good guys. Mike
We have a call into them……. Maybe we can pay them to let us play.
I listened to the songs on the web site. Brings back some great memories of the Scottsdale Boys Club, The dances at the city pool and numorous sock hops. Remember how all the kids followed the group? There was a lot of loyalty for Thee Noblemen.
We all know how it goes when your a high school kid constantly thinking about how one can stand out and be noticed for doing something special (anything involving the slightest glimmer of fame)Looking back at Thee Noblemen, they were as popular as the footbal team. They even had their own version of Cheerleaders (Go Go Girls) Cheer Leaders shook their pom poms Go Go Girls shook their (you know) and probably got more attention for it too!
Like other start up bands, Thee Noblemen began their career as an instrumental band playing a lot of Ventures, Dick Dale, Santo & Johnny etc. Then one night two of the band members stepped up to the microphone and belted out a vocal and all the girls got focus. Roy sang Pretty Woman and Joey sang…..it doesn’t matter what Joey sang, he could have sung the Star Freaking Banner, it wouldn’t have mattered. He was the girl magnet but Joey was always a monogomous kinda guy and kind enough to break only one heart at a time.
Fast forward from 1960 something to 2010 and here they are again. A lot older, Wiser? Hmmm maybe. But now they have KICK ASS equipment! And their acne has cleared up. So look great and can be heard.
How many guys get an opportunity like this. Slowly but surely, the loyal freinds will gather at future appearances and share a lot of great memories.
Get out there and play guys! There are a lot of people waiting to hear you again. But a lot of them don’t know it yet so promote! promote! promote!
Eddie;
Boy it was fun times back then. The only thing missing now is you in the band. I know you are a solid California guy and we miss you over here in sunny Arizona. You know we have an empty stool waiting for you to jam with us whenever you are in town. It has been so rewarding to play with Joe, Steve and Roy. Yes, we can still rock!
Scott
California is my home now but periodic visits to the “Valley of the Sun” are just a short plane ride away. Jamming with you guys was a lot of fun and I plan on coming out again this month for business. Hopefully everyone will be available and we can get together.
I stopped in Guitar Center to check out the Strats last week end. I saw a lot of other guitars that we’re pretty nice too but the Strat is really the standard and well deserved. I love the sound.
Just to show you I’m in the musical spirit, Janet and I are going to a Halloween party tonight as ZZ Top. We have the beards, hats and sunglasses and we’re ready to rock.
Happy Halloween and I’ll see you in a couple of weeks.
Eddie
Hi Joey,
I love your website and Kurt and I are excited about coming out on Sunday to listen to you play. Except for partying at your house it’s been years since I’ve seen you play in a band. I listened to the dirty recordings and the songs bring back so many memories. Thanks and we’ll see you Sunday!
Carol
YOU GUYS WERE MY FAVORITE BAND! CAN’T WAIT UNTIL I SEE YOU PLAY ONCE AGAIN!
SEE U SUNDAY. A BLAST FROM THE PAST
We are still Rockin after all these years I had soooo much fun jamming with you guys. Roy has definately passed me up on lead guitar but I had way too much fun puttin’ down the rythme while Roy put his touch on each song. OK, I got in a few licks but I need extensive work on my leads begore I catch up woith him. Great work Roy. Great work everyone for that matter.
I would especially like to thank the “Girls” for their attention. You were amazing. I look forward to coming back for another jam soon. I also look forward to seeing what Scott puts up on the web site from the session.
A very special thanks to Ebe for pulling the hospitality together. You are wonderful and it was really appreciated.
I’m back home now but I can’t help but think that not very many guys have what I have. My oldest and best friends that welcome me to their stage anytime I can be there. Thanks everyone “especially the Girls”
Jenny. Allow me to appoint myself as an un-official ambassador and welcome you to Thee Noblemen blog. I was just about to make a couple of suggestions to the guys in the way of new (old) material and saw your entry, it’s good to see new people in the mix.
Anyway, here goes….I think they could do a great job on a couple of Bruce Springsteen tunes…Namely: Dancing in the Dark and Everybodys Got a Hungry Heart. Springsteen came along a few years after the group but I think they could really do these two song justice. What do you think guys?
Hey Joey and guys! It’s Maggie (Leon/Wise). Just thought I’d let you know I was checking out your website. Music sounds good. I gotta have a party for you to play soon! Say “hi” to Eva. Hope to get out and hear you guys live.
Love Maggie
Oh yeah, guess who’s the new “Ladies of Harley” director for Hacienda HOG97? ME! Too funny! Talk later!
